Just had another frustrating conversation with a nurse on Mum’s ward. They won’t allow mum to be discharged until she’s been hypo-free for 24 hours and unfortunately her blood sugars and heart rate are still all over the place. I put our case that we can’t expect perfection: we feel she’ll be safer at home now that Dad’s so much better. I wrote to the consultant to say the same thing. Back to thumb-twiddling…

A Sainsbury’s delivery slot suddenly popped up late last night. They’re very welcome but never for exactly when you want them. This one was for today. Dad’s disgruntled because he favours a just-in-time (or when-you’ve-run-out) approach to shopping and getting in too many supplies is anathema to him. At least he’ll have plenty of gin!
