Juliet, Holloway, 10 April 2020

Mum won’t be out of hospital today. Her blood sugar reading was a bit low this morning so they are keeping her in. When I phoned, she was having a shower so is obviously well otherwise.

Dad is much better and saying he has nearly shaken off his cold.

The weather is still lovely. Today I picked up a few odds and ends from Mayfield Stores and Robin’s, including delicious home-made puddings for Mum and Dad’s freezer

The local community group here in Dethick Lea and Holloway has been amazing and I’m hoping to tap into it to get some permanent help for Mum and Dad when I hopefully leave in early June. My brilliant landlady has also lent me some lighter clothes: I only brought a few cold weather things when I arrived three weeks ago.

I’m logging my symptoms (or lack thereof) on the Covid Tracker app every day. Our area Amber Valley is not badly affected and currently shows as pale pink on the map.

Leon and Lily are having a barbecue in my garden. So unfair! They’re torturing me. This is the first day I’ve longed to be able to go home.
